Narayan Seva Sansthan honoured Padma Shri Awardee Dr. B. K. S. Sanjay
Dehradun! Sanjay Orthopaedic, Spine and Maternity Centre’s Orthopaedic and Spine Surgeon Padma Shri Awardee Dr. B. K. S. Sanjay has been honoured by Narayan Seva Sansthan President Shri. Prashant Agarwal in presence of Director Palak Agarwal, Public Relations Officer Mahim Jain and other members of Bairagi Camp Narayan Seva Sansthan and anchor Shri Sudhir Sharma editor of Pradhan Times in Haridwar Kumbh Mela 2021. It is matter of great pleasure that Narayan Seva Sansthan is serving to divyangjan for last more than three decades. The sansthan has stablished a temporary surgical hospital in Bairagi camp Haridwar during Maha Kumbh Mela. This act of selfless service is commendable.
Dr. Sanjay, informed to the audiences that the polio, cerebral palsy and road traffic accidents are the main cause of deformity and disabilities in our country. According to the WHO report more than five lakh road traffic accidents are happening in India. Out of them, 1.5 lakh people are killed and similar number of people are being disabled in our country. Being an Orthopaedic Surgeon and seeing the all kind of problems related to road traffic accidents he and his team is doing a road safety campaign to reduce the road traffic accidents. His centre has organised nearly 200 free public awareness lecture which has been recorded in India Book of Records in 2021. Dr. Sanjay appealed to audience to follow the traffic rules and be role model to others so that numbers of accidents can be reduced.
Any kind of disability reduces the efficiency and ability of a person. The capability of a disabled person is always less than that of an able person. Polio, Cerebral Palsy and road accidents are the main cause of orthopaedic disability in our country. Pulse Polio Programme of the Government of India have been very successful, hence there are no new cases of polio since January 2011, but millions of old polio patients are still living in miserable condition. In his address Senior Orthopaedic and Spine Surgeon, Padma Shri awardee, Dr. B. K. S. Sanjay told that the surgeries in polio and C.P patients should be done as early as possible because he believe the philosophy that plants can be straightened and not the trees.
